Klepto Parents

It all started with my Aggie ring. About a month ago, I took my ring off and set it on a table of the preschool I work at in my classroom. Me being me, and my horrible awful memory, I forgot I put it on the table. 30 minutes (maybe longer) later, I realized I didn't have it on and we couldn't find it. Anywhere. We moved the bookshelves, looked through the kids pockets, backpacks, and cubbies, searched through the centers. We could not find it. I'm not pointing fingers. But if it fell off that table, we would've found it. Now for the second part. Monday was my birthday, and I had told the kids I would bring cupcakes on Tuesday (I spent an awesome birthday with my mom and sister shopping at the outlet mall all day!). I went to HEB Tuesday morning and got 3 dozen cupcakes so my class and our other pre-k class could have some too! Well, needless to say, my kids did not earn them on Tuesday (or Wednesday or Thursday for that matter). I gave 2 dozen of the cupcakes to the other class so they could have them for a snack that afternoon and I told the kids they could try again tomorrow. I left work Tuesday and left the other dozen cupcakes sitting on the counter. Wednesday when I came in, they were gone. MIA. Nowhere to be found. The lady that works in our class in the afternoons wasn't back until today, so I asked if she had seen the cupcakes. She had set them on the back counter on Tuesday because the kids were trying to take it home. The last girl to leave, let's call her Rosie, asked for a cupcake so the teacher gave her one, because she's actually a really good kid. Well, if Rosie got one, her sister had to get one too. By then, Rosie's mom said that she would finish packing up her stuff and she could go ahead and leave. So the teacher left. Guess who took the cupcakes? YUP. Rosie's mom. The whole dozen. We asked Rosie today and she said she had another cupcake at home. REALLY?? SERIOUSLY?? Who does that?! I am kind of mad, but I'm also shocked because she's always been so nice and sweet. I guess she has an evil side. I know now not to leave anything on the counters at school because you never know what the "nice" parents will take.
